Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to receive a score of a perfect of 10 during an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi came across Comaneci at the age of six. She would later become Romania's gymnastics coach. Comaneci was the first to compete for time in the 1969 national junior championships and finished 13th. The following year she became champion. At her first international event in a preolympics junior competition for countries in the Communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975, she won named the all-around Junior Champion. When she competed for the first time as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion, winning four gold and one silver medal. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first female to do the backward double salto in dismounting from the uneven bars parallel to each other. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began in the entertainment industry during her teenage years, when she performed as a figure skating duo with their sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her career in entertainment during her teenage years. She started her career performing figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment programs Ice Capades. The show featured stage-moving ice-skating shows.
