April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th July. She began guitar and piano lessons from age seven. The passion for creating songs began to grow. April Lockhart composed her very first track, Different at age of 12. At the age of 14, April spent lots of time writing lyrics and perfecting her singing capabilities. Soon after she began taking trips to write with her father in NY and LA. April began including other topics in Take My hand for the people in her life who are struggling issues with bullying, disabilities and even suicide. Lockhart works in partnerships at famous clean beauty brand Ilia and is a lifestyle influencer with her own growing following. Lockhart was born with no left hand and that is part of who she's become, but it's hardly her whole story. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap through her Instagram page but she doesn't make it the focus of the account. The main message? That we all contain multitudes that our identities are complex and that we're much more than just our physical self. Lockhart has stated on video she does not wish to be defined by her disability. She does not want to be a disability advocate who focuses on that. There are many aspects of Lockhart. My daily life isn't impaired by the disability. I go about my regular daily life, and come up with myself solutions for problems. But it's also a part of me, so I believe it's important that we talk about. Lockhart's journey to acceptance of herself is one that will last an entire lifetime. She is an inspiration on this front. Lockhart has admitted that she's gone through phases where she was uncomfortable dressing in certain styles that showed her arms. She now wears whatever she wants and posts photos of herself wearing those clothes to the internet with a sense of pride. This is a long journey. key thing I don't know when you will arrive, she says of self-love. This is true for everyone, no matter what their levels of anxiety. The people you surround yourself with that truly understand you and who can look into your heart are the ones that will help you remember about the importance of your life.
